Idaho Boat Number Display Laws

Idaho boat registration numbers must be displayed correctly on your vessel so they are easy to read and properly spaced. Use the guide below, then design your boat number decals below.

Idaho Display Requirements

Idaho requires registration numbers to be shown on both sides of the forward half of the boat. The numbers must be clearly visible, read from left to right, and use plain vertical block characters at least 3 inches high. Validation stickers must be placed within 6 inches of and in line with the registration number on each side.

Idaho boat numbers are typically displayed as ID 1234 AB or ID-1234-AB.
